Driving Test Pass Tips

5 Tips For Passing Driving Test

The freedom of the open road, the ability to go anywhere and do anything is one of the many feelings drivers have every time they get behind the wheel of a car. However, they had to earn that feeling by taking a test to prove they were responsible enough to handle the freedom of driving. These “5 tips for passing driving test” will help you ace the driving test so you too can enjoy that freedom and a lower price on auto insurance for teens.

Tip 1: Practice Makes Perfect

Practice, practice, practice. Practice driving every chance you get, wherever possible. Find a large empty parking lot, and use a couple of empty boxes as cars in order to practice your parallel parking. By practicing, you will learn and remember how to do things through repetition. Of course, make sure you have a licensed driver with you when you practice in order to make sure you are doing things right.

Tip 2: Practice Driving on Test Routes

Many of the routes that you will take on your driving test are available on the Internet. Each driving center typically has 10 to 15 routes they will use. By studying the routes and familiarizing yourself with them, you will be better prepared for what to expect if your driving inspector directs you down a road you might not have been familiar with otherwise. If you have your learner’s permit, you could even practice driving down these routes with a licensed driver. This will help build your confidence for the test.

Tip 3: Study the Guide Book

In order to get your driver’s License, you must pass not only an actual driving test, but a written driving test as well. Each state will provide you with a handbook filled with the rules of the road in your particular state, as well as the meaning of signs. Some rules change from state to state, so even if you think you know something, it never hurts to double check with the study guide. Many things in the handbook will appear to be common sense, or things you would just do naturally. However, some of those specifics that you may not think about at first will certainly appear on the test and can mean the difference between passing and failing your driving test.

Tip 4:  Make Sure Your Car is as Ready as You are

Make sure that your car is safe to be on the road. Double check that your headlights and brake lights work, and your turn indicators work. Make sure that there are no cracks in the windshield, nothing hanging from your rear view mirror and that your car registration is up to date. It also wouldn’t hurt to make sure that the inside of the car is nice and clean as well. The condition of your car can say as much about your ability as a driver as your actual driving can.

Tip 5: Familiarize Yourself with the Controls

You should make sure that you know where all the various controls the inspector will ask you to use for the test are. Make sure you know how to turn your hazard lights and high beams on. Know where your windshield wiper controls are, and the difference between the windshield wipers and the rear wipers if your car has them. Make sure that your wiper fluid has been checked and topped up. You want to make sure to express to the inspector that you are familiar with your vehicle and ready for the responsibility that comes with a driver’s license.

If you follow these “5 tips for passing driving test”, you will be well on your way to hit the pavement. Just remember to relax and be confident and know that you are prepared for whatever the inspector might throw your way.  Be sure to check out our great cheap insurance for young drivers if you are going to be driving soon.  Why pay for more than what you need, call us today!
